From Our Firm to Community Leadership: Ayomide Dacosta Named Lagos Division Youth Ambassador
Akinjide & Co. is delighted to celebrate a remarkable achievement by one of our own, Ayomide Dacosta, a Paralegal in our law firm. Ayomide successfully emerged as winner in the recently concluded Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos & Epe (IBILE) Youth Academy programme. He was consequently selected as the Team Lead, Lagos Division Youth Ambassadors by the Lagos State Government from out of nearly 4,000 young Lagosians.
The IBILE Youth Academy, established under the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration is Lagos State’s premier youth leadership development programme. The 7th edition attracted 3,763 applicants competing for a handful of ambassadorship positions. Ayomide’s path to success included steady progress through multiple stages, including competitive written application and screening; intensive divisional training with 100 finalists; state-wide residential boot camp with 50 candidates left at this stage; and then, the selection by H. E. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, CON himself.
During the residential boot camp, Ayomide performed in a presentation before the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende and the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, gaining recognition for embodying the programme’s core message about Nigerian youth staying true to their roots and engaging with the community to make our country a better place.
As Team Lead, Ayomide will represent the Lagos Division at state and national youth leadership forums. He will also lead youth engagement initiatives in creating measurable community impact.
